I miss the South East Asia ghost exhibition. It was one of the best moments to visit. Aside from that, I like how they maintained the building and keeping everything clean and organised.

Sabah State Museum is must visit tourist attractions in Kota Kinabalu City. Opens for public everyday from 9am - 5pm. Entrance fee is from RM2 (locals) RM15 (International) per pax.

The entire museum consist of little bit of everything from ancient showcase gallery, science & technology, Islamic civilization museum, conservation center, Railway Gallery, Botanical Garden and Train Exhibition. It might take half a day to explore everything, plan ahead! 😉

There is also a gift shop available at the entrance, selling all collectible souvenir to bring back home. The shop also sells some simple snacks & drinks for a grab bite to eat. Transportation such Grab taxi will cost somewhere RM12 per trip anywhere from the city center.

The museum is family friendly & indoor air-conditioned non-smoking facility. Photos can be taken but no flash is allowed.

Take a visit, a must!

All things said I did enjoy this museam, the pricing was reasonable and the exhibits were interesting. The one thing I found unfortunate is that the outside of the main building is somewhat in disrepair, not dangerously so just enough to warrant some time and attention. All things said if you're in the area it's a decent spot to hit - much better in my opinion than the observatory, which was in much worse disrepair.

Good place to spend a few hours learning about the cultural and natural history of Sabah. The section on the impact of the Second World War is interesting. Ceramics for Chinese dynasties are on show. They were used by the locals as gifts and even as part of a burial ceremony.

Anyone who loves history can come to this place. Don't worry this place is very comfortable and you can bring the kids too. Yes! Visit while learning about history. 😄

A must see! An amazing atmosphere with so much going on! We saw fruit, vegetables and fish we'd never seen or heard of before! A heads up: in the fish and meat area the floor is very wet with water flowing from the tables this was fine for me with flip flops on however I could see some people walking in trainers who were carefully avoiding walking close to tables which did affect the unspoken organistion of moving through the area!

Very crowded during weekend. Narrow space to walk from stall to stall. The beggars will follow you around until you give them money. I'll describe the price within this place as an inexpensive reasonably priced.

Everything under one roof! If u would like to buy gifts, this is the right place. Plus if you like local product like anchovies, dried prawn and salted fish, you would get it cheaper if you know how to bargain. Really worth it!

Good place to find pearls and zircon. But be very careful. Buyers beware! You'll also be hassle to buy imitation dark glasses, belts and watches passed on as genuine sold cheaply. Prices drops drastically when you don't show interest.

Variety of souvenir is full stars but the environment cleanness of this place is 2 out of 10. Beware of your wallet and bag when someone approach to you. Remember to negotiate the prices for all the goods before buying. Cleanness of the foods and drinks are 2 out of 10.
