<h3>Overview</h3>Mari Mari Cultural Village serves as a museum preserving Borneo's ethnic culture and also shares knowledge on the history, culture, and tradition of Borneo, Sabah. The Village features 5 different ethnic tribes in one village.Enter the pristine Klias wetlands and mosey your way down the Klias River in an open boat, keeping your eyes peeled for the Bornean-endemic wildlife such as proboscis monkeys, long-tailed macaques, and the rare silver langur!&nbsp;At sundown, enjoy a local buffet dinner while you immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of Mother Nature before taking a trip through a mangrove swamp graced by dazzling fireflies.

Worth the price. Our tour guide Ben was really good and informative.  Food and drinks are all yummy.

A fantastic place to visit for all the family. We booked onto do the 10am tour. We were collected promptly from our hostel at 9am and driven to the village where we paid for our ticket and told our guide would be with us between 9.50 and 10am.

Our wonderful guide Ben gathered those in our group together and shared with us lots of information about the 5 tribes. Drawing upon his knowledge of his grandfather who was part of one of the tribes he was very enthusiastic and passionate.

We got to sample some delicious and fresh samples of honey, rice wine, coffee, tea, fish net biscuit and more! After touring the villages we had a refreshing glass of lime juice and the option of having a henna tattoo before the dancinh performance. It was wonderful! Finally it was time for a buffet lunch. Fresh, warm and delicious! We had a great time and would say its worth every penny.

Important to note it is busy with lots of other groups being toured around the houses at the same time so be under no illusion that it will be you, a guide and the place to yourself. We knew this in advance but there was a couple who looked disappointed at its popularity. That being said the amount of people didn't spoil the experience, you only really notice the group that's ahead of you in the tour. Plus Ben, our guide, was fantastic at giving us bonus facts and stories on the occasion we had to wait for the group in front to finish at one of the houses.

Very good place, very good people, very nice experience.
But be careful, when you go by taxi. Grab can't find taxi well so the price is very expensive. i think you can go with guide when 130-170 rm

We went with a tour but you can go there directly and will cost you a lot lesser. Loved the insights the guide gives you about thier way of life. There is food tasting at all the houses for free and a lovely dance performance at the end. We went for the 2:00pm visit and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

I saw that reviews for this place was highly rated and was a little skeptical. I thought it might be cheesy! But it turned to be a really enjoyable and informative experience. Also very unique too to Borneo as it is introducing you to the way of life for the indigenous tribes who live/lived there. It is about 3 hours long but they keep you well entertained (and fed!) Recommended for both adults and kids alike!

The trees looks like a light up Christmas tree. But can only see up close. You will also encounter some of the Borneo wildlife here, such as the Proboscis monkeys& the Silver leaf monkey. Drive from KK to Beaufort took about 2 1/2 hours, depend on traffic. Its a must experience tour.

had so much fun cruising the river while looking for the monkeys, managed to catalogued all species of monkey along this river and exceptionally excited to see the proboscis monkey, the fireflies watching on the other hand was captivating, the tour company & organizer was just nice 👌, but i wish they would preserve the area around kilas river more, too many houses around the area.

Well, if u really want to see proboscis monkey in the wild, this is the place.

We saw the monkeys. They are quite high up so definitely take the binoculars.. You can rent them too. We ate buffet dinner there which was fine. The fireflies boat trip was the best. It looked like the trees were decorated for xmas. Beautiful and difficult to capture on your phone so don't waste time trying to click photos just enjoy the experience

Both river excursions were magical. We saw two kinds of monkeys, several of each, one of which was the rare proboscis monkey! The tea snack and the dinner were both plentiful and very good. We enjoyed the beautiful synchronized fireflies on the second excursion after sunset.
