Overview of Mesilou Atamis Homestay
Mesilou Atamis Homestay is located at Kampung Mesilou, close to Mount Kinabalu in Kundasang District, with 2 hours drive from Kota Kinabalu. With a high altitude of approx. 1600m above sea level and temperature as low as 15°C, Mesilou Atamis Homestay is known as 'The highest and coldest homestay village in Malaysia'. Furthermore, not far away from the village, a naturally yellow coloured river can also be seen. Thus, the name of the homestay "Mesilou Atamis" was given. Mesilou, derived from Dusun word "Osilou" means yellow and "Atamis" means cold.
Maintenance of natural resources in Kampung Mesilou as well as the friendliness of the local make this village an ideal place for nature and educational recreation. You will be able to enjoy the life as a local witnessing a unique side of Sabah with activities, such as, traditional fishing, visiting local farms, watching cultural performance and of course, tasting the local food.
